who is Redeeming Zoe?
Redeeming Zoe is a nonprofit organization in the Philippines committed to protecting children from exploitation and helping them thrive. We equip children and communities through education, mentorship, and trauma-informed care. Through local partnerships, child protection training, and community programs, we help create safe spaces where every child has the opportunity to grow and dream big.
The name Zoe comes from the Greek word for “life.” It describes a life that is complete, flourishing, and abundant, not just physically alive but truly thriving. This reflects our belief that every child deserves the opportunity to live a full and hopeful life.
We are Redeeming Zoe, working together to help children and communities experience the Zoe life.

Mission
how we got started…
In 2014, our founders, Hillary and Becca, met a beautiful little girl named Zoe** in a small fishing village in the Philippines. Zoe was eleven years old and had lived her entire life in the community where they first met her.
One day, Zoe’s mother brought her to an orphanage where our founders were serving. With deep pain, she shared that she had been selling Zoe to a neighbor to provide food for their family. Believing the orphanage might offer her daughter a better future, she asked if Zoe could stay there.
Zoe had experienced abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Her story reflected the heartbreaking reality that many children face when families lack the support and resources they need.
In that moment, our founders realized that the solution required more than simply placing children in orphanages. Families and communities needed support, education, and resources to help protect their children and build safer environments.
From this experience, the vision for Redeeming Zoe was born.
In December 2016, Redeeming Zoe officially launched with a mission to strengthen families, equip communities, and help protect children from abuse. Today, we remain passionate about seeing communities united, families strengthened, and children empowered to stand up against all forms of abuse.
