September was a meaningful month; it gave us opportunities to continue equipping parents, strengthening our work with children through Club Kinabuhi, and investing in the professional growth of our team.
Wins in September:
Equipping Parents to Protect Children
We were grateful to be invited to speak at a couples seminar hosted by a church in Minglanilla, Cebu, where approximately 55 participants gathered, including couples with children as well as those who are still building their families. Our session, “Equipping Parents to Protect Children from Abuse, Exploitation & Online Harm,” focused on an important question: What are we doing at home that keeps our children safe—not just today, but when we are not beside them? The session introduced parents to the different forms of child abuse and exploitation and discussed how these can happen within environments children encounter every day. We also shared about the growing risks children face online, including the dangers of online sexual abuse and exploitation, as part of our continuing Anti-OSAEC awareness efforts. We also discussed the importance of being aware of how children can be exposed to harmful content, manipulation, and online radicalization. Rather than simply telling parents to restrict technology, the conversation focused on equipping them with practical ways to create safer online and offline environments for their children. Parents were encouraged to begin building a safe home culture, one where children know they can speak openly, understand healthy boundaries, recognize unsafe situations, and know which trusted adults they can turn to. We also shared practical online safety measures and everyday protective practices that parents can begin applying at home. We are grateful for opportunities like this to bring child protection conversations into churches and families, recognizing that prevention begins long before a child encounters a dangerous situation.
Club Kinabuhi Continues
Our Club Kinabuhi activities continued this month as we remained committed to walking alongside the children, teens, and families we serve. The children and families continued to receive their monthly food packs, providing practical support while maintaining an ongoing connection with the families. For CK parents, the session focused on the foundations of the family, helping parents reflect on the importance of building strong, healthy, and secure family relationships. We also discussed the role parents play in creating a home where children can experience love, guidance, healthy boundaries, and safety. Our CK teens also had an opportunity to participate in sports and fellowship. Alongside the recreational activities, this month’s learning discussions focused on recognizing and appreciating their parents' sacrifices and care, and taught the importance of gratitude toward them. Through Club Kinabuhi, we continue to combine practical support, relationship-building, life lessons, and family strengthening—creating opportunities to walk alongside both children and parents as they grow together.
Celebrating Professional Growth
We also celebrate a special milestone within our RZ team this month: one of our staff members, Nerissa, successfully passed the Social Work Licensure Examination.
We are grateful to see the professional growth of our team and celebrate this achievement as part of our continued investment in developing people who are equipped to serve children, families, and communities with both competence and compassion.
We believe that strengthening our team is also part of strengthening the work God has entrusted to Redeeming Zoe.
As we look ahead, we're excited for more opportunities to reach and equip communities! With several child protection trainings lined up, we continue to strengthen partnerships with churches, organizations, and communities who share our heart for protecting children.
We are grateful for every door God opens and every opportunity to invest in children and families. As we continue building relationships and expanding our reach, our prayer remains the same: to see more children grow up in safe, loving environments where they are protected, valued, and given the opportunity to thrive.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
Please continue to pray with us for:
Wisdom and strength for our team — that God would continue to give us wisdom, unity, and strength as we serve and as responsibilities continue to grow.
Open doors for partnerships and trainings — that God would lead us to the right churches, organizations, communities, and individuals, and that every training opportunity would result in meaningful awareness and action for the protection of children.
The children and families we serve — that they would experience safety, healing, hope, and strengthened families, and that the seeds planted through our programs and relationships would continue to bear fruit.
Thank you for continuing to stand with Redeeming Zoe Philippines. We are grateful for every prayer, partnership, and opportunity to help build safer communities for children.
